After his introduction with Haydn, Sunwook Kim invites us to delve into two of the most beautiful piano collections; first, Schumann's Davidsbündlertänze Op. 6, one of his boldest and most modern piano ensembles, fueled both by his love for Clara and a form of rebellion against the traditional patterns of piano writing that gives it precisely this incredible modernity. Schubert's Sonata D. 960 is of a completely different nature. It is the last large-scale composition written by the musician who was to die two months later. Without being twilight, an undeniable scent of both resignation and serenity pervades this page. A "swan song" in the instrumental domain, it offers a poignant melody from start to finish.
