Sir Andrà s Schiff and the Salzburg Marionettes replaced by the 48 Preludes from the Well-Tempered Clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach on December 9 at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées and on December 18, 2021 at the Philharmonie.
He is called the "grandson of Bach" or even the "contemporary of Bach" Sir Andrà s Schiff chose two iconic venues in Paris: the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and the Philharmonie de Paris to play the 1st and 2nd books of Johann Sebastian Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier. He remains today an incomparable interpreter of the Leipzig Cantor, of whom Daniel Barenboim speaks in these terms: "It is"... by the level of his mysterious identification with Bach's music that he is unique. Without losing sight of the true style, he succeeds in making Bach's music contemporary - and that is why he has all my admiration and gratitude."
