Rafal Blechacz's maturity and astonishing yet never ostentatious virtuosity make him an undeniable master of the piano. Conducted without fanfare, his career already associates him with the greatest artists of the past.
With his seriousness, his healthy ambition, the depth of his playing, his luminous sound, and his global vision of works, Rafal Blechacz is part of the lineage of thinking pianists, which goes from Wilhelm Kempff to Murray Perahia, including Alfred Brendel. In 2005, he won the Chopin Competition, a composer of whom he has since become one of the most sought-after interpreters and which makes him the heir to Arthur Rubinstein and Krystian Zimerman. Nine years later, he was awarded the Gilmore Prize, which rewards an exceptional pianist only every four years. Apart from Chopin, the Polish pianist devotes himself largely to the Austro-German repertoire, but also to Debussy and Szymanowski. His mastery of all technical and musical parameters is astounding every time.
