Since winning the 15th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2005, Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz has been recognised as the greatest Chopin interpreter of his generation. His profound interpretations have earned him worldwide acclaim, as well as the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award in 2014.
Blechacz performs with renowned orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, the Orchestre de Paris, and the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, and gives recitals in major venues including the Berlin Philharmonie and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
An exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist, his debut album of Chopin's Preludes won an ECHO Klassik award, while his recording of the Chopin Concertos received the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik. His most recent album, released in March 2023, is once again dedicated to Chopin.
In 2016, Rafał Blechacz also earned a PhD in the philosophy of music.
