After being Konzertmeister of the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich, he attended masterclasses given by Franco Gulli, Walter Levin and the Melos Quartet.
Before joining the Berliner Philharmoniker, he participated in the orchestra's ensembles: the Sharoun Ensemble, the Baroque Soloists. He was assistant conductor of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn and a member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Violinist Clara-Jumi Kang is an artist of supreme musicianship, impeccable refinement, and poise, as evidenced by the numerous awards and honors she has received since bursting onto the scene by winning the Indianapolis International Violin Competition in 2010, following successes at the Seoul Violin Competition (2009) and the Sendai Violin Competition (2010).
Her cycle of Beethoven violin sonatas with pianist Sunwook Kim, released by Accentus last season, received excellent reviews and nominations.
