Ten days after his duo recital with cellist Sol Gabella, Nelson Goerner returns solo to offer us a resolutely romantic program.
To begin with, Chopin's Four Ballades , a genre of which Chopin was a true pioneer. These four pieces are characterized by the intensity of their melodic lines and the richness of their harmonic writing. Then, in the second part, Liszt's undeniable masterpiece, this sonata in B minor. Never before had the musician composed such a long and rich piece for the piano. Monumental, a true "musical action," the Sonata in B minor truly belongs in the pantheon of the greatest works in piano literature.
