It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Nelson Freire on Monday, November 1, 2021. We are investigating the future of this concert and will get back to you soon with further details.
Discreet, Nelson Freire is one of the greatest pianists of the second half of the 20th century, and perhaps one of the most unique. He maintains a rare intimacy with Romantic music, particularly Chopin, but he also knows how to open his repertoire to other styles and other eras. He finally returns to give a recital at the Philharmonie after his concert scheduled for April 2021, which was unfortunately canceled.
