This great Lady of the piano was the musical partner of Sviatoslav Richter, who recognized in her his alter ego through the intensity of her playing and her intimate knowledge of the piano repertoire, of which she is the unanimously acclaimed transmitter .

After two wonderful Schubert evenings before the lockdown and concert hall closures, she returns in good company, the Streichquartett der Staaskapelle Berlin, for a Schumann-Shostakovich duet. Two new opportunities, after those offered by the Konzertmeiser der Berliner Philharmoniker, to hear quintets for strings and piano, a configuration that is somewhat unusual but very present this season on Avenue Montaigne. Schumann's Opus 44 combines the rigor of the quartet style with the fantasy and concertante freedom of the piano writing, where the happy shadow of Clara hovers. The Beethoven Quartet is the source of Shostakovich's Opus 57, and since its premiere in 1940, it has been one of the composer's most popular chamber music pieces.
