A great lady of the piano, with a career spanning several decades, Elisabeth Leonskaja is particularly appreciated for her interpretations of the Romantic repertoire. For her second concert devoted to Schubert, one of her favorite composers, she chose to play his last three sonatas, a moving musical testament of a composer who died at the age of 31.
Violinist Clara-Jumi Kang is an artist of supreme musicianship, impeccable refinement, and poise, as evidenced by the numerous awards and honors she has received since bursting onto the scene by winning the Indianapolis International Violin Competition in 2010, following successes at the Seoul Violin Competition (2009) and the Sendai Violin Competition (2010).
Her cycle of Beethoven violin sonatas with pianist Sunwook Kim, released by Accentus last season, received excellent reviews and nominations.
