Elisabeth Leonskaja offers a program tailored to her needs, culminating in two Brahms sonatas.

Sviatoslav Richter, one of the essential pianists of the 20th century, admired Elisabeth Leonskaja, to the point of making her his regular four-hands partner. He undoubtedly appreciated her authentic artistic nature, her consistently noble interpretations, her ability to reach the darkest corners of music. With a grace that belongs only to her and an undiminished capacity for wonder, she never ceases to question the texts. Beneath her inspired fingers, Mozart sounds in all his fullness and Brahms in the diversity of his characters. Written in the tradition traced by Schumann's sonatas and his  Fantasy, Op. 17 , while developing a very personal universe, the three piano sonatas by Brahms affirm an orchestral conception of the piano, whose writing marked by very large chords and dizzying movements makes the execution difficult, a close relationship to poetry and the universe of the lied, a discourse imbued with a freedom which brings it closer to fantasy.
