"Why is playing in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra a unique experience? It's the communication, the joy of playing, the camaraderie and the high artistic level."
These are the words of Wenzel Fuchs, who made his debut as a solo clarinetist at the Vienna Volksoper at the age of 19, and five years later with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
He was appointed solo clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 1993. Since 2008 Wenzel Fuchs has held a professorship at the Hans Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, and also teaches at the Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2015 he has taught at the Mozarteum Salzburg. In addition to his work with the renowned orchestra, he is very involved as a soloist and chamber musician, notably participating in the Berlin Philharmonic Octet, the Berlin Wind Soloists, and the Ensemble Wien-Berlin.
