Founded by Sir András Schiff, Cappella Andrea Barca is a unique ensemble composed of world-renowned soloists and chamber musicians. Initially brought together to perform the complete Mozart piano concertos, they now approach a vast repertoire with the spirit and intimacy of chamber music. Guided by a common artistic vision, they perform on the biggest international stages.
Founded by Sir András Schiff in 1999, Cappella Andrea Barca is a unique ensemble. Its musicians are mainly world-renowned soloists and chamber musicians who are not linked to any other orchestra. They were personally chosen by Sir András Schiff to perform the complete Mozart Piano Concertos during the Salzburg Mozart Week between 1999 and 2005, a festival where they have been regular guests ever since.
The main mission of the ensemble is to interpret the repertoire from the Baroque to the Romantic period with the spirit and intimacy of chamber music. Guided by friendship and shared artistic ideals, they have toured the greatest concert halls in Europe, America and Asia.
